Principal – Governance and Compliance – Supply Chain
The Principal - Governance and Compliance role is a senior-level position responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing the Australian Operating Assets Supply Chain governance framework. The role will support the Supply Chain team and operating sites to develop and ensure compliance to the Supply standard and processes, respond to audits, conduct data analysis, and deliver reporting. This role will ensure that MMG operates ethically, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. To achieve this, the Principal must have strong experience in developing, implementing, and managing governance frameworks, supply processes, risk management and compliance obligations.
This role will be based In Melbourne, Victoria on a Monday – Friday roster.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Multiple years’ experience in Supply Chain Governance and Compliance roles or Procurement / Supply chain roles at a management level.
- Mining/Resources experience preferred but not essential.
- Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks.
- Minimum degree qualification in Supply, Business or Commercial, or Professional qualification/certification from related professional body i.e. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage.
- Competent in the use of SAP, Ariba or similar ERP system, or willingness/ability to learn
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drive and improve the Supply team governance and compliance obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, assess, and streamline processes to drive process efficiency and strengthen compliance.
- Ensure compliance to the Supply and Insurance Standard and appropriate Work Quality Requirements.
- Actively manage supply chain risk in line with the Group risk framework.
- Identify weaknesses through risk identification and audit reviews. Develop strategies to strengthen processes and improve compliance.
- Work closely with the Group Supply Governance and Excellence team in Beijing.
- Work closely with the Shared Business Services function (Procurement team) in Laos to delivery improvements on procurement governance, reporting and processes,
