We are pleased to advise that we seek a Tax Specialist – International Taxes. Based in Beijing office and reporting to Senior Tax Specialist, the purpose of this job is to ensure the tax compliance for MMG subsidiaries in China and other jurisdictions are completed on a timely and accurate basis. It will also be responsible for responding to questions and information requests from tax authorities during conduct of tax audits.
To be considered, candidates must have:
• Support the identification of opportunities to standardise or streamline China tax compliance processes to ensure efficient completion of tax returns and other filings, including the identification and use of technology
• Effective management of external advisors to support completion of compliance work, including ensuring budgets are set and agreed, engagement terms and scope of work agreed within budget and holding the external advisers to account as measured against these requirements
• Proper project management of filing requirements including development of filing and reporting timetables, coordination of external advisers to ensure they can meet the timetable and holding advisers to account to ensure filing deadlines are met
• Assist in meeting other external reporting requirements in relation to tax exposures, opportunities, progress of projects, including liaising with CMC and CMN stakeholders
• Other tax related project work, mergers & acquisitions, process improvements, etc.
Key to success in this role is the ability to have:
• Tax technical, tax compliance matters and tax risk appetite relevant to a large listed corporate group
• Practical knowledge of the application and operation of ERP systems, particularly SAP
• Corporate structuring, capital funding and profit repatriation techniques, joint ventures (exploration, infrastructure)
• Tax accounting and tax return preparation experience.
